St James' Church of England Primary School

Together in faith, we are a winning team.

"A high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It should provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect."

National Curriculum, DfE 2014

For our sporting endeavours, we have been awarded these School Games marks!

Watching someone doing tricks on a scooter in the school hall doesn't happen every day!  Our visitor, pro scooter champion Jamie Hull, showed us what practice and determination and a love of sport can lead to. What a great afternoon!

We were honoured to be nominated in the 'School Commitment to PE and Sports' Category of the Pride of Tameside Sport and Physical Activity Awards 2019. What an achievement!

We love to encourage girls to play football. The Class 6 v Class 5 match was very exciting!

We enjoyed completing Tameside Sports Bingo!
